To ensure you enjoy the safest experience, strongest fragrance throw, and longest lifespan from your products, please follow the care instructions provided below.

As all of our products are lovingly handcrafted, slight variations in colour, appearance, and finish may occur. These variations are a natural part of the handmade process and make each item uniquely yours.

At Boho Tranquility Co, we are committed to creating high-quality home fragrance products using carefully selected ingredients that are as safe and non-toxic as possible, without compromising on performance or affordability.

Our candles are hand-poured using a premium coconut soy wax blend made from natural ingredients and are completely free from paraffin wax. We also use lead-free cotton wicks for a clean and reliable burn.

Our fragrances are proudly made in Australia and contain a combination of naturally derived ingredients, natural essential oils, synthetic aroma compounds, and plant-based carrier solvents. Some of our fragrances are made entirely from essential oils, which is clearly stated within the individual scent descriptions.

All fragrance oils used throughout our range are:

CANDLES & WAX MELTS

Our Wax

Candles: 100% Natural Coconut Soy Wax
Wax Melts: 100% Natural Soy Wax

All products are:

Because we use natural waxes, you may notice frosting (a white crystalline appearance on the wax surface). This is a completely natural characteristic of plant-based wax and does not affect the performance, fragrance throw, or quality of your candle or melt.

Some fragrance oils, particularly those containing vanillin, may cause natural discolouration over time. This is normal and does not affect product performance.

All candles and wax melts are triple scented using premium fragrance oils for maximum fragrance throw.

FRAGRANCES

Our fragrances are manufactured in Australia using high-quality ingredients sourced both locally and globally.

All fragrance oils adhere to strict quality control standards and are:

  • Vegan Friendly
  • Paraben Free
  • Phthalate Free
  • IFRA Compliant

We also offer selected fragrances made primarily with essential oils. These will be clearly identified within the product description.

CANDLE CARE

For safe use and optimal performance:

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Keep away from children and pets.
  • Place candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from flammable materials.
  • Trim wick to approximately 6mm (¼ inch) before each burn.
  • Remove any decorative elements before lighting.
  • Remove soot, debris, or wick trimmings before relighting.
  • Allow the wax pool to reach the edges of the vessel during each burn to help prevent tunnelling.
  • Do not burn for longer than 4 hours at a time.

Important: Do not burn your candle all the way to the bottom of the vessel. Always discontinue use when approximately 6mm of wax remains at the base.

Burning a candle beyond this point can cause excessive heat to build up in the vessel, increasing the risk of glass breakage. The prolonged heat may also soften or melt the adhesive securing the wick tab to the base of the vessel, causing the wick to detach and float in the remaining wax.

If the wick becomes dislodged and there is still wax you would like to enjoy, carefully extinguish the flame. While the wax is still liquid, use tweezers, chopsticks, or toothpicks to gently reposition the metal wick tab back to the centre of the vessel. Allow the wax to cool and fully solidify before relighting. This will help secure the wick in place and allow you to safely enjoy the remaining wax.

For safety reasons, never attempt to move or reposition the wick while the candle is lit.

Burning beyond 4 hours may cause the vessel to become excessively hot and reduce the overall lifespan of your candle.

WAX MELT CARE

  • Only use approved wax melt warmers.
  • Do not add water.
  • Place warmer on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
  • Keep away from drafts and flammable materials.
  • Do not leave unattended while in use.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Do not operate for longer than 4 hours at a time.
  • Replace wax once the fragrance has faded.

Always extinguish tealights or switch off electric warmers before leaving the room.

DIFFUSERS

Our diffuser range is:

  • Ethanol Free
  • Vegan Friendly
  • Non-Dangerous Goods (Non-DG)

Some fragrances may naturally develop a yellow or amber tint due to the interaction between fragrance oils and diffuser base. Decorative inclusions may also influence the perceived colour.

This is completely normal and does not affect product performance.

REED DIFFUSER CARE

Setup

  1. Remove the screw cap.
  2. Remove the internal bung.
  3. Replace the screw cap.
  4. Insert reed sticks.

Care Instructions

  • Place on a stable surface.
  • Use a coaster or protective tray underneath.
  • Keep away from children and pets.
  • Never light the reeds.

To maximise fragrance performance:

  • Flip reeds weekly.
  • Gently swirl the diffuser base occasionally.
  • Keep reeds free from dust build-up.

Lifespan

Reed diffusers typically last between 3–6 months depending on:

  • Room size
  • Airflow
  • Humidity
  • Heating and cooling systems

For best results, place in a cool area away from direct sunlight and strong drafts.

Reed Recommendations

Each diffuser includes 10 reed sticks.

  • Small to medium rooms: Use 5 reeds.
  • Large or open-plan spaces: Use all 10 reeds.

If fragrance performance decreases significantly over time, replace the reeds.

HANGING CAR DIFFUSERS

Setup

  1. Remove bamboo lid.
  2. Remove plastic bung (do not discard).
  3. Replace bamboo lid.
  4. Carefully tip upside down for 5–10 seconds to allow fragrance oil to absorb into the bamboo lid.
  5. Return upright immediately.
  6. Reinsert the plastic bung.

The bamboo lid will darken slightly once saturated.

Important Safety Information

  • Do not oversaturate the bamboo lid.
  • Always keep the plastic bung in place when not refreshing the fragrance.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Do not lay diffuser on its side.
  • Do not allow oil to come into contact with plastics, upholstery, furnishings, dashboards, or painted surfaces.
  • Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
  • Ensure diffuser does not obstruct driver visibility.

Take care not to spill the fragrance oil.

To refresh the scent, gently swirl the bottle and repeat the saturation process as required.

CAR VENT DIFFUSERS

Setup

  1. Remove diffuser from packaging.
  2. Remove bamboo lid.
  3. Remove internal plug.
  4. Attach vent clip around the neck of the bottle.
  5. Replace bamboo lid securely.
  6. Insert reed sticks through the designated holes.
  7. Attach diffuser to your vehicle air vent.

Avoid spilling fragrance oil during setup and use.

BUTTERFLY SPECIMENS

The butterfly wings used in our products are ethically sourced from butterflies that have completed their natural lifespan.

No butterflies are harmed for the purpose of creating these pieces.

Each specimen is carefully preserved to celebrate and showcase their natural beauty.

BUTTERFLY SPECIMEN CARE

As with many natural specimens, book lice may occasionally occur.

Signs include:

  • Fine black dust beneath the specimen
  • Small insect activity within the frame or jar

If detected:

  1. Place the entire frame or jar inside a sealed plastic bag.
  2. Freeze for a minimum of 72 hours.

For ongoing care:

  • Avoid direct sunlight.
  • Keep away from excessive heat.
  • Store in low-humidity environments.
  • Inspect regularly if part of a larger collection.

Proper care will ensure many years of enjoyment.

Each jar is:

  • Cleansed before, during, and after creation

Each crystal is energetically cleansed prior to being included in our products to promote its highest potential and intended properties.
